








Yukiko Hirano-Moellering is a native of Tokyo, Japan. She began to take piano lessons at the age of four. Yukiko has a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Toho College of Music in Tokyo, where she studied under Prof. Yoko Kasuga. She taught piano 10 years at the Yamaha Music School as well as in her private studio.
In addition to her music career, Yukiko received a certificate of teaching Japanese in 1999 in Tokyo, and then was an intern at University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2000. After her completing her internship, Yukiko was appointed as full-time lecturer of Japanese at UNL in the fall of 2004, lasting until 2008.
While at UNL she studied music education and piano performance, under the guidance of Dr. Nicole Narboni. She has performed duet recitals with Steven Moellering in Danville (2008), Japan (2006 and 2007), Nebraska (2006), Kansas (2006) and Missouri (2007). In 2010 she performed in Reeder Music Academy’s Schumann/Chopin bi-centennial concert. Yukiko is also a member of the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC).
